Rep. Sheila Jackson claims US Constitution is 400 years old.

WASHINGTON, March 12, 2014– Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) claimed Wednesday that the United States Constitution is a 400-year-old document.

“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a Constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not,” the Yale University and University of Virginia Law School alumna said.

Am I a racist if I find this amusing?

Wasn’t there a guy in Congress who thought islands could capsize?

What’s even funnier is that we have a President in the White House who can’t even produce a valid birth certificate.

I know, I know, just another “birther” – right.

Does it matter to you that it’s the truth?

Here’s a list of the records Obama has sealed from the public that every other President in history has had to furnish if applicable.

Why does “Truth in Media” completely ignore such a serious issue, but are so quick to offer comic relief as posted above?

Copy of Birth Certificate (Released! However has been forged or altered)

    Occidental College Records

    Columbia College records

    Harvard College Records

    Selective Service Registration

    Medical Records

    Illinois State Senate Schedule

    Illinois State Senate Records

Certified Copy of ORIGINAL Birth certificate

Signed Embossed, Paper Certificate of Live Birth

    Baptism Record

    Foreign Student Aid Records

    Passport Records

Social Security records – explanation of why Mr. Obama has been issued a Connecticut Social Security No.

It is astounding that we’ve been mesmerized, or many have been, to ignore your list. Makes a thinking person ponder the power of the media to be a vehicle for mind control. Important topic to get informed about. And, this man is a fake. He needs to be removed from office with the full force of the law.

      • Obama Needs To GO

“He needs to be removed from office with the full force of the law.”

You’re damned right he does. He needs to be forcefully removed in handcuffs and leg irons, forced to do numerous “perp walks” for the cameras. He needs to be held indefinitely without charge, denied legal counsel – well you get the picture.

We are much better people than that filthy scumbsag so we would probably not treat him the way he thinks we should be treated.

    • Scott

      Guam might tip over.

      • BobF50

Yes and he was lecturing an Admiral in command of an entire fleet who had to sit and listen to the IDIOT without laughing. You cannot change an IQ with an “education”, but you can make an IDIOT mistakenly “feel” intelligent.

      • Cordell_D

Maybe an ACT or SAT type test might be in order prior to being allowed into Congress. These fools are making laws that will affect us and our families for generations and many can’t even comprehend the most simple concepts, such as why islands can’t tip over!!

    • Dave Thomas B

It’s ignored because it’s stupid, stop discrediting this website with your idiotic email forward views.

      • Cordell_D

What a cowardly thing for disqus to do…not show the down vote tally any more, I’m sure this post had many. This factcheck article that you reference was proven false, misleading and used semantics to support their very left wing, pro-obama stance. Google the article, it only takes seconds.

  • Enema Of The State

I can overlook her generous estimate of the nation’s age but a ” Constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not” belies uh umm…400 years of constitutional history.

  • Voxr3volution

Amazing how a Democrat can be so ignorant about the age of this country and our beloved Constitution that she is up in D.C. supposedly defend, and yet no media coverage of this by the MSM.

  • AlexZane

And 51% of voters in the presidential election believed republicans were the dumb ones. This should be run on every news channel, every hour, for a week followed by 10 year olds correcting her.

  • Mario

I think her message is unfortunately shaded by this mistake, but fundamentally, she is right on the money.

    • disqusisdumb5

No! It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever! Trying to defend this rambling hot mess of incoherent nonsense only makes YOU look foolish. Fundamentally right about what? That we are “operating under a Constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not”? That’s a circular statement that doesn’t go anywhere. But hey, at least she’s TRYING, right? Guess we better let her slip by with that.

  • Cordell_D

She continues to be one of the most ignorant members of Congress…shameful.

  • Jim T

She proves that the village idiot can get a degree at Yale University and Virginia Law School.

    • Cordell_D

This friend of hers in Congress seems to be in direct competition for the biggest moron award… He also has a ‘law degree’ provided by affirmative action.

    • Baynigga

She probably copied off of Bush

  • jess

If only Hillary won. Shit, we all know how dirty and low republicans play. Not for the people that’s for sure.

    • ScarletPimpernil

That’s right! If it weren’t for Democrats, there’d be no saints. Yeah, right.

After all, it was Democrats who freed the slaves. Oh, my mistake. Uh, it was they who got women the vote. Oh, mistaken again. Hmm.

Being part of a group does not automatically make you either a criminal or a saint.

These things aside, why is it anyone would think anatomy is anymore a qualification than was O.B.’s skin color, or his “promises”? Only fools and emotionally consumed individuals would think such to be merits for candidacy.

    • Karolyn

Jess; if Hillary had won we would be in as bad a shape or worse than Obama. The Clintons are lying, cheating criminals. If you think she’s any good you best do allot of research on her & hubby. As another article tried to find out; tell us what she has accomplished except getting us in deeper in other countries and getting our people killed?

  • Joshua Barnard

Good to know that the folks in government know their history and about the articles of the very government they are running…

    • Fredric Ward

      *ruining 😉

  • Antodav

Yale graduate? Well, so was George W. Bush. Affirmative action at work, I suppose. This isn’t the first or the most ignorant thing that this woman has ever said. But then again, her constituents in Texas probably don’t know any better than she does.

    • LibertarianTexan

She represents a very poor ghetto in Houston. And she represents it accurately.

    • Karolyn

Very true; thankfully, I am not one of them.

  • spraguey

I think what she meant was people first came to country and started running it for about 400 years which would be 394 years since the pilgrims have landed, but still stupid how she said it

  • disqusisdumb5

I could barely listen to that incomprehensible ebonics gutter talk. “Maybe I should offer a good thanks…” ? What? “Deliberative” is not a word. I don’t think her statement even constituted actual sentences, but merely a bunch of half-assed phrases strung together. She makes no sense.

    • Kevin

Actually, “deliberative” *is* a word. This speech doesn’t sound remotely like ebonics. It sounds like typical legislative lingo mixed with a somewhat poorly constructed sentence. I’ll elaborate below…

It sounds like she meant to indicate a time span of approximately 400 years since the pilgrims arrived and set the stage for what would eventually become the USA. She certainly misspoke, as her sentence implies that she believes the Constitution is 400 years old. Does she actually think that? I don’t think so. The headline on this website and others is misleading, in my opinion.

Do I think that people are ready to jump on her because she is a black woman? Perhaps. Do I think labeling it as ebonics is unfair and possibly racist? Definitely, yes.

      • balls deep

No, it just sounds like a typical black woman trying to sound like she’s not a moron. Usually comes out in the wash though.

        • asmith1234

There’s plenty of black women out there that have an average IQ of at least 90 more points that she does.

      • Owen

no matter what she intended, she is stupid and a race bater.

      • asmith1234

Kevin, You wrote: “Does she actually think that? I don’t think so. ” You might think different if you’ve read more of what she’s said in the past. No, even if someone explained the blooper to her, I still doubt she’d get it. Doubt if she even has a clue as to who was fighting in the Revolutionary War. FWIW, I don’t think any of our legislature (both Rs and Ds) is packed with the brightest bulbs, but she brings down the average, considerably.

      • Karolyn

As I stated earlier, she’s from Texas and she is ignorant! Race has nothing to do with how inept she is just like race has nothing to do with how Obama is disliked for the way he is “transforming” America and definitely not in a good way.

  • LTE2

Shelia Jackson Lee was only off by a few hundred years. I’d say she’s getting better at getting her facts straight.

  • Mims

Does that count in all 57 states?

  • dozr

I always like jumping on, however I think it was just a clumsy speech and not that she actually thinks the constitution is 400yrs old, more like 400yrs since the first successful Colonization of the US bleh bleh bleh…. basically she should get a speech writer or fire the one she has.

    • dozr

“The US” as in the area not the country meant to say north america.

  • Steve

Yes, let’s pick on someone for misspeaking. Because that’s really a sign of intelligence huh?

    • LibertarianTexan

Oh if you had any idea of how much of a pattern this woman has of ignorance…

    • TXLibertyBelle

Several years ago she asked NASA officials if the MARS pathfinder would be able to take a picture of the flag Neil Armstrong planted there in 1969. Google it.

    • Tim

What’s next? Oh wait, I bet she says Hitler reigned Germany 200 years ago and that Napoleon was Roman……..

    • Anti Fabian

Oh, you mean like how Dan Quayle was lambasted by the media and Democrats for the misspelling of the word potato, which was mis spelled on the cue card he was handed for judging at a spelling bee? I tell you what, if it had been a conservative who made this mistake about how old the constitution is, the leftist in the media would have made it head line news and lambasted it all over the place!

    • Steve

I need to change my username so I won’t be mistaken to be you.

  • LibertarianTexan

You can thank the Texas GOP for gerrymandering this woman into power.

  • Gwylym

And republicans don’t ever make mistakes on some of their facts?

    • Tim

The problem is that our elected Representatives are ‘sold out’ to a Globalist Corporate lobby and indoctrinated with U.N. propaganda about “social justice”. Our country is in serious decline and full of criminals in power positions. If we, The People, don’t recognize this FACT and start looking to replace these corrupted leaders with SERVANTS, then we are shortly going to find out what parts of history we’re doomed to repeat.

Voters, fellow Americans, start reading history, get educated and then start finding people in your community to elect to local offices. Then support them on their eventual climb to higher offices. If WE, as voters, fail to act now, the soon-to-be future is likely going to be a very bad period for us. Remember, this is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to choose our elected servants. If we keep allowing power to concentrate in the hands of the few, history teaches that we’re going to have a seriously BAD outcome.

    • asmith1234

Oh, for crying out loud! Yes, Republicans (most of which are phony republicans) do make mistakes, however, this is a major blunder that’s a prime example of a mind that’s beyond ignorance. Something comparable to ignorance gone to seed. Even elementary aged students know our nation’s birthday. Please don’t try and excuse this ignorant woman’s words. If you look at her history, she’s got a habit of opening her mouth and giving plenty of good examples of her stupidity and ignorance. There are numerous intelligent black women out there, but she ain’t one of them.

      • Watchman on the Wall

Her phenomenon is best explained as someone morally deficient, which the Bible refers to in the Book of Proverbs as a fool. For example:

“A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but flights in airing his own opinions.” Proverbs 18:2

The bottom line is that all knowledge, wisdom and prudence spring forth from a healthy and wise fear, reverence and awe of YHWH, Almighty God, who reveals Himself and the truth to those who diligently seek His face. Here’s how God says it:

“Fear of the LORD (YHWH) is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” Proverbs 1:7

Looks like God knows what He’s talking about now, doesn’t it?

  • Tannim

Shelia Jackson Lee never was the brightest candle in the vaccuum…

  • Steve

Would have been more meaninngful to hear more of what she was saying.

    • Karolyn

Steve, you really don’t want to hear anything she is saying; not worth your time. I live in Houston and she is a total embarrassment to the state of Texas as far as I’m concerned but the idiots just keep putting her in office.

      • Steve

I understand. What I was saying by meaningful was the fact Jackson does not know the Constitution, and therefore should be removed from office. We have these people taking the Oath of Office, to support the Constitution, when they have never studied or even read the US Constitution. This woman has broke her Oath, which is Perjury, and she does not even know it. What a shame!

So thank you Karolyn for reminding me to say what I am thinking. :-)

        • Karolyn

Even if they do know the Constitution they don’t want to follow it or they want to interpret it into what they want it to mean and they do want to rewrite the Constitution because “it’s so old and out of date with the times”. NOT

  • Tim

This just shows how our elected Representatives are virtually unschooled in the fundamental examples of political history and THAT is HIGHLY DANGEROUS! Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it and our nation is RIPE for repeating history. Let’s hope it’s not the recent history of other nations who fell under the boot of murderous tyranny.

    • Steve

Yes Tim you are so correct. There should be a Mandate, that anyone who wants to run for office should complete a course, on the history of the Constitution, and on the constitution itself, within 2 years of taking office. Then repeat this course every three years there after if they want to remain in office. These idiots are taking the Oath without even knowing what this Oath is about.

      • Karolyn

Or they take the oath not caring what the Constitution says because they have no plans to follow it.

  • Anti Fabian

Saying the constitution is 400 years could have been an honest mistake. But I am willing to suggest that Rep Sheila Jackson has no idea what is in the Constitution, and that she is not much different than most of the other members of congress. If ever there should be a litmus test for public government service, it should be to give evidence that you know what is in the Constitution of this nation, for that is the supreme law of the land, and we are supposed to be a nation of laws, not a democracy of majority rules.

    • denise0513

A test on U.S. government wouldn’t be a bad idea as it seems many have forgotten that our government has 3 branches, each with their own duties. The executive branch does not have the authority to make law, yet many in the House of Representatives had the audacity on 3/12/2013 to state on the record that the president did have the authority to make and change law without congressional approval. Yes, test on how well they understand how the government is suppose to work, as well as their knowledge of the Constitution of the United States.

  • JB

“Was it over when the Germans bombed pearl harbor…… hell no”

  • Abe

Shows how dumbed down the public really is when they vote for these know nothings. This is funny but not as funny as the clown that was worried about Guam tipping over.

  • Pippiagain

And knowing the general intelligence level of Ms Lee, we are surprised why?
