Special Counsel Accuses Trump of “Criminal Acts” to Overturn 2020 Election

We begin today with an unprecedented move by the so-called special counsel investigating Donald Trump. Court filings accusing former President Trump of resorting to criminal acts in a bid to cling to power after the 2020 election. What could this mean for the upcoming 2024 race? And is there more to this story that mainstream media is refusing to tell you about?

There is. I’m Ben Swann. This is Truth in Media.

Increasingly desperate. That is how former President Donald Trump’s actions in the wake of the 2020 election are being described today by a special counsel. Prosecutors allege that Trump attempted to overturn his electoral defeat through a series of moves, including allegedly inciting violence on January 6th. You’ve heard all this before. And get this. Trump is accused of doing all this in his private capacity, which would mean is not protected by that recent Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity.

That news prompted a furious response from the former president Wednesday night, who went on to call it, quote, another obvious attempt by the Harris Biden regime to undermine and weaponize American democracy and interfere in the 2024 presidential election. Quote. Now, of course, we cannot ignore the timing of all of this coming just days after a less than spectacular debate performance by Kamala Harris as vice presidential candidate Tim Walz.

It’s also less than 30 days from the presidential election. And keep in mind, much of this is unprecedented in that these are not court transcripts and this is not a court filing. These are allegations made by the prosecutor in the case, not made in court, where the defense attorneys can challenge the claims. Instead, accusations made by witnesses who are not cross-examined, allegations and information cherry picked by the prosecutor and then leaked to an all too eager media to distribute it.

This very much looks like the Trump dossier. Back in 2016, which was full of salacious and inflammatory accusations. Well, meanwhile, former Secretary of State John Kerry is raising eyebrows today with his comments on free speech and information. He seems to be saying that people do not have the right to have different opinions other than his. Listen to this.

Look, if people go to only one source, in the source they go to is sick and, you know, has an agenda and they’re putting out disinformation. Our First Amendment stands as a major block to the ability to be able to just, you know, hammer it out of existence. So to discuss, I’m joined by economic researcher and futurist and a man who cares deeply about freedom of speech, Chris Martin.

And, Chris, it’s good to have you on. Thanks, Ben. It’s good to be here. So both sides obviously have been sounding the alarm about election misinformation. Who even knows what that means at this point? But what does this say about what’s going on on our political system? And I want you to comment also on on Jack Smith, the special prosecutor here, releasing all this information to the media outside of actually prosecuting this case in court.

Look, Ben, each one of these fragments is is deeply important all on its own. But I think when we put them together, we have a pie that says, look, these people who are in power right now, they’re going to do anything. And everything they can to remain in power. And some of that, at least one prong, one wedge of this pie for us happens to be labeling things misinformation, mal information, disinformation.

And those those statements by John Kerry, they are those should be disqualifying. That man should never, ever be anywhere near public office. But that is the August wisdom of a man who spent his entire life in and around, presumably putting his hand on a Bible, swearing an oath to the US Constitution, which he just failed in every conceivable way.

But that tells us something about where we are in the story. I think. I think you’re right. And I think we hear over and over again about how the First Amendment is not absolute. Freedom of speech is not absolute. In fact, it came up during the debate of the vice presidential debate just this week. Listen to this. This was a threat to our democracy in a way that we had not seen, and it manifested itself because of Donald Trump’s inability to say.

He is still saying he didn’t lose the election. I would just outright. Did he lose the 2020 election? Tim, I’m focused on the future. Did Kamala Harris censor Americans from speaking their mind in the wake of the 2020 Covid situation? That is what she said. That is a damning non-answer. It’s a damning non-answer for you to not talk about censorship.

I think it is a damning non-answer to not talk about censorship, but obviously there can be lots of questions about J6. You shouldn’t avoid those questions. I don’t think Vance was necessarily avoiding, but there’s a much bigger issue here than January 6th, right? What he said about specifically Covid misinformation, because you and I are both guys who were heavily censored and still are, by the way, on social media because of things that we said during Covid about the efficacy of masks, about the dangers of taking that vaccine, about what government was doing in terms of shutdowns and the economic tyranny that essentially took place.

We’ve watched all that happen and and the mainstream media and of course, the the political class that remains in power won’t even acknowledge that it’s happening. In fact, all they do is call for more censorship. They do. And, you know, the two most chilling words that came out of Tim Waltz’s mouth in that last clip for me were our democracy.

But what he means, the possessive use of that word, he means our the people who are in power. It’s very clear that’s what they mean. They don’t mean of, by and for the people. The absolute disastrously, horrifyingly bad response nonresponse by the federal government to the hurricane victims. Right now, the billions that go over to Ukraine and the few pennies that come back to our own citizens, that that look, then they don’t care about us.

And they’ve taken the mask off, and now they’ve let us see it clearly. They care about our democracy, meaning them. They care about misinformation, but only when it’s somebody other than them providing the misinformation. And we just saw AOC the other day. She came out and said, oh, you know, we have to take care of the media literacy needs help.

And so we’re going to have to control the media environment. Like, what are those things even mean? Those are obviously vague words. Vague terms. What do they even mean by democracy? They can’t even explain it because the truth is, for that last election in 2020, nobody can verify that the results that were turned in actually happened because we don’t have a system that allows verification.

And it should, of course. And I think it’s legitimate for a person in this country to say, listen, before you tax me, before you send me off to war, I would like to know that the person I voted for won or lost. This is a very fair thing. We’ve always had it. Now they’re acting as if this is a mysteriously grand claim.

They can’t possibly be satisfied. And you’re a right wing nut job for daring to suggest that, you know, you want to speak freely in your own country and know that you have verifiable elections. It’s that’s where we are. The people in power have no problem trying to verify elections in Venezuela, but none of you try to verify them right here because.

Martin, thanks for joining us. Well, speaking of Harris, she actually traveled to the state of Georgia finally on Wednesday to tour damage left behind by Hurricane Helene. It only took her almost a week to get there. She met with lawmakers and families to tout her administration’s response to the disaster. But you got to listen to this. The federal Relief and Assistance that we have been providing has included, FEMA providing $750 for folks who need immediate needs being met, such as food, baby formula, and the like, $750.

Tens of thousands of residents, in many cases, lost their entire livelihoods. $750. It’s going to do nothing to help them repair their homes, recover any of the invaluable memories that were lost. But Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas is trying to justify these tiny amounts by saying, quote, we are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have.

We are expecting another hurricane. Hitting FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season. So how much has FEMA spent this year on illegal immigrants? Over $1 billion. And even more glaring, what is $750 when less than a week ago, our very own president pledged another $2 billion to go to Ukraine. Yeah, I’m proud to announce a new $2.4 billion package of security assistance.

I’ve also directed the Pentagon to allocate to allocate all the remaining security assistance funding that has been appropriated for Ukraine, period. We give billions to foreign countries where our own residents simply get pennies. If we gave the same amount of money to our own people that we’ve given to Ukraine since the start of this war, we would be able to provide over $100,000 to each of the 2 million people displaced by healing.

And that’s just Ukraine, because this year the government has been handing out money like candy, as they always do. Get this. So far this year, we have dished out a whopping 24.4 billion to Ukraine because apparently democracy comes with a hefty price tag. Then there’s our good buddy Israel, who’s received $11.3 billion just this year. And let’s not forget about Ethiopia and Jordan, 1.9 5,000,000,001.6 billion, respectively.

And we’ve also sent hundreds of millions of dollars to Egypt, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen and even the Congo. Also, you got to add in $9,000 per illegal immigrant coming across the border, $9,000 for every illegal immigrant who crosses the border into our country. But $750 to our own citizens who have had their entire lives turned upside down. And that is disgraceful.

And that’s our show for today. I’m the one you can find us on X at @Truth_Inmedia. You can also watch all of our full episodes right now at TruthInMedia.com.
