Trump Civil Fraud Ruling To Be Overturned?

  • Remember when Donald Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of fraud? He was ordered to pay hundreds of millions in fines. Well, that decision may be on the verge of being overturned. The New York Appellate Panel is raising major questions about the staggering civil fraud judgment placed on the former president. I’ll explain. I’m Ben Swann, and this is Truth in Media.
  • One of President Trump’s biggest legal headaches may soon be coming to an end. The New York appeals court looks poised to toss out that lawsuit for fraud, which find the former president $454 million earlier this year. Listen to a portion of this video. It was posted on TikTok by the name Nephew Joe.
  • They said. Have you ever seen an attorney general prosecute a case where there was no damage to the public? There was no damage to the person you said was defrauded, and there was no actual malice committed by the person who took the loan. And then they took another like six hours on that one. And by the end of that, the judges were like, so you don’t have any instance of that happening.
  • the prosecution is on the back foot and playing defense after justices questioned the integrity of the lawsuit and whether or not they brought the suit against the former president only because he was running for president. The court even questioned how the lower court could even assess such a large fine, given that both parties, that is, President Trump and Deutsche Bank left the deal happy.
  • The immense penalty in this case is troubling. So how do you tether? The amount that was assessed by Supreme Court to the harm that was caused here, where the parties left these transactions happy about how things went down.
  • We’ll keep following the story and we’ll bring you more as it develops.
  • Well, meanwhile, moving on to Hurricane Helene and the millions still struggling to get their lives back to normal after the storm tore through areas of the state of North Carolina last week. We’ve told you about locals on the ground complaining about the speed of recovery efforts by local and federal officials.
  • Well, now there’s this theory, which might explain why. Just to be clear, it’s just a theory.
  • But some folks are convinced that there is a grand scheme to grab lithium from the mountains of North Carolina. You see, lithium is a metal that powers your precious smartphones, electric cars. Some residents believe the government is trying to keep them out of their homes.
  • In an effort to take the land to areas between Kings Mountain and Chimney Rock, North Carolina, have some of the largest lithium deposits, maybe the largest in all of North America. Right now, there are no lithium mines active in North Carolina, but that doesn’t mean that the government and big corporations aren’t interested. Just one year ago, the Pentagon gave $90 million to an American chemicals corporation, all for the hopes of reopening a mine in the state and shoring up American battery production.
  • And just earlier this year, a permit was finalized for another mine in North Carolina. Operated by a company called Piedmont Lithium, both mines are scheduled to be located about 30 miles outside of Charlotte. Now, again, we’re not saying this is true. It has not been confirmed. So why are people so convinced? Well, it’s simple fear and distrust. Considering how slow the federal response to the hurricane has been, unmarked helicopters flying in and disrupting aid distribution in disaster stricken areas.
  • You blame them? And with Washington’s endless pursuit to exploit lithium mines in other countries like Bolivia, you can understand why they would want to exploit that critical resource right here at home.
  • So while millions of Americans were geared up for yet another hurricane, Hurricane Milton, what exactly are the two people who want to lead the country up to?
  • Let’s start with President Trump, who traveled to Pennsylvania trying to lock down support in that crucial swing state. Here’s Vivek Ramaswamy, campaigning for the former president in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
  • We are in a war for the survival of our country, for the survival of American self-confidence. And right now, more than ever, we need a commander in chief who will lead us to victory in that war.
  • By the way, it looks like Donald Trump is starting to slowly edge out Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania, which is widely considered the most important swing state of all this time around.
  • Well, meanwhile, what is Kamala Harris doing? Well, she is on a full blown media blitz doing podcasts and talk shows and much more. Listen to this,
  • Okay. The last time I had beer was at a baseball game with Doug. So. Cheers. There you go.
  • Oh, yeah. It’s like the beautiful city of Milwaukee. Champagne and beers. There you go.
  • We’ll talk about trying to awkwardly as possible, appeal to Middle America. Of course, no problem for a presidential candidate to be focused on drawing support for the election. But she is still also the sitting vice president.
  • While she was out there filming The View, chatting with the likes of Howard Stern and Colbert. People were asking why aren’t you supposed to be working right now?
  • For instance, this tweet from Kayleigh McEnany, who pointed out that Kamala Harris had to call into the hurricane briefing virtually.
  • And in the hours and days ahead, President Biden and I and our administration will continue to do everything we can to protect the people who have been in the path of this storm and once the storm has passed, we will be there to help folks recover and rebuild.
  • How can you possibly trust that these officials are going to swoop in and save the day after this disaster, when their response to other disasters has been so heavily criticized? And as we move towards Election Day, you can catch all of the latest coverage on the race. Check us out on X @Truth_inMedia.
