What the Media Missed When Trump Brought Up ‘Very Secret’ Papers

At a campaign event in South Carolina on Wednesday, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump criticized former president George W. Bush for the Iraq war and referenced “very secret” papers about the Saudi government and 9/11.

“It wasn’t the Iraqis that knocked down the World Trade Center, we went after Iraq, we decimated the country. Iran’s taking over, okay. But it wasn’t the Iraqis, you will find out who really knocked down the World Trade Center, ‘cause they have papers in there that are very secret, you may find it’s the Saudis, okay? But you will find out,” said Trump.

One can assume that the “very secret” papers Trump is referencing are the 28 redacted pages of the official 9/11 report.

Most of the mainstream media that reported on Trump’s comments avoided going any further than briefly mentioning the 28 pages. Much of the focus appeared to be on Trump himself rather than the redacted pages Trump was talking about.

Currently there is pressure on the House and Senate to declassify the 28 pages, and there are resolutions urging President Obama to release these documents to the public.

In a phone conversation with Truth In Media’s Joshua Cook on Friday, former Democratic Senator Bob Graham, who headed the Congressional Joint Inquiry into the deadly 9/11 attack back in 2002, said he was “very pleased that Trump made the 28 pages a national issue.” Graham reiterated that the information in the 28 pages shows who financed the 9/11 hijackers, and it points to the Saudi government.

Truth In Media’s Joshua Cook also asked 28Pages.org‘s Brian McGlinchey on Friday to share his thoughts about Trump’s comments.

“Trump’s comments have definitely prompted a spike in interest in the topic. Unfortunately, though, the impact has been muted by the fact that he cryptically refers to “very secret papers” rather than specifically identifying the 28 pages. Clearly, most journalists had no idea what he was talking about and, judging from the social media reaction, many individuals rolled their eyes and assumed Trump was making the whole thing up,” said McGlinchey.

During a press conference in 2014, Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) said regarding the 28 pages, “As I read it, and we all had our own experience, I had to stop every couple of pages and just sort of try to absorb and try to rearrange my understanding of history.”

Massie added that “it challenges you to re-think everything. I think the whole country needs to go through that.”

Massie also described the 28 pages as “shocking.”

So why doesn’t the U.S. want to release the 28 pages, and why does the media refuse to discuss the issue? Last year, Graham told Cook that “the U.S. government doesn’t want the public to know that the Saudis financed the 9/11 attacks because we provide the Saudis with billions in military aid.”

Money maybe one motivating factor, but Congressmen Walter Jones suggested to Cook in a 2015 interview that those pages may embarrass the Bush family.

Jones told Cook, “If I was in the shoes of President Obama, he has no reason to not declassify this information,” he said. “If any family that could be embarrassed, it’s the Bush’s, but why should he care about that?

On Friday, Cook asked Graham if anything in the 28 pages would embarrass the Bush family. Graham responded that he couldn’t comment on that issue, but could only discuss what has been said already regarding Saudi Arabia, the hijackers, and the ongoing attempt to hide the truth from the American people.

Cook asked Graham if he thought it was bold for Trump to make these comments about Bush and the 28 pages in a conservative state like South Carolina.

Graham said it shouldn’t matter; liberal or conservative, the American people should have access to information regarding who financed the 9/11 hijackers.

Massie on the 28 Pages: Documents Will Challenge Americans to Rethink 9/11

Fourteen years after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Washington continues to hide the truth about 9/11 and the FBI cover-up.

Truth in Media has reported extensively on the allegations that the government of Saudi Arabia financed the 9/11 hijackers and  why the U.S. government wants to protect them.

Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) posted on Facebook today to challenge Americans to rethink 9/11.

“The families of the victims deserve to know more. My constituents deserve the truth. As a Congressman, I had access to the documents, and while reading them I had to stop every few pages to rearrange my understanding of history for the past 14 years and the years leading up to the attack. It challenges you to rethink everything,” wrote Massie.

Massie is referring to 28 pages from the 9/11 report that are still classified by the Obama administration.

Massie stated that if the public knows the truth about the events that led up to the 9/11 attacks it could change U.S. foreign policy.

“The declassification of the pages would provide valuable information as we craft foreign policy moving forward. Before we further involve ourselves overseas with the intent to prevent another 9/11, Congressmen and their constituents need to know more about the events leading up to 9/11. Understanding what enabled this tragedy to occur is fundamental to drafting a strategy for the Middle East,” wrote Massie.

So why doesn’t the U.S. want to release the 28 pages? According to former Senator Bob Graham, The U.S. government doesn’t want the public to know that the Saudis financed the 9/11 attacks because we provide the Saudis with billions in military aid.

Graham told Truth In Media that the 28-pages are just the tip of the iceberg.

Graham said that there are over 80,000 pages of classified documents that shows connections involving a Sarasota, Florida family, the 9/11 hijackers, and the Saudi government. Graham said that the FBI went beyond cover-up to “aggressive deception.”

Sen. Bob Graham Says FBI went beyond 9/11 Cover-Up to “Aggressive Deception”

As previously reporter by BenSwann.com’s Derrick Broze, former Florida Senator Bob Graham claims that Saudi Arabia funded the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and in an interview with the New York Times, Graham won’t stop until the truth is out.

“Number one, I think the American people deserve to know the truth of what has happened in their name. Number 2 is justice for these family members who have suffered such loss and thus far have been frustrated largely by the U.S. government in their efforts to get some compensation,” said the former head of the Senate Intelligence Committee to the Times.

Graham said that a smoking gun in this case are contained in 80,000 documents being reviewed by a federal judge in south Florida. The documents are being reviewed by the judge thanks to the work of FloridaBulldog.org’s investigative journalist, Dan Christensen, who submitted a FOIA request to obtain those documents. These documents, which are being released little by little, show a connection between a wealthy Florida family, the Saudi royal family and the hijackers.

Graham, who was the former head of the intelligence Senate committee and had first hand knowledge of these documents, says that the FBI is covering up the fact that it investigated this family. Judge Andrew Napolitano told Fox News’ Shepard Smith that he believes that Graham has seen the documents and knows exactly what’s in them (3:34).

Smith said that the family just vanished, leaving a fridge full of food and all of their belongs just prior to the terrorist attacks.

“To me, the most simple, unanswered question of 9/11 is, did the 19 hijackers act alone or were they assisted by someone in the United States?” he said to the Times. “The official position of the United States government is they acted alone. My motivation is to try to answer that question. Did they act alone or did they have a support structure that made 9/11 possible?”

Smith noted that if the government of Saudi Arabia, not people, but the government, aided and financed the terrorists of 9/11, then it was an act of war. “If what Senator Graham is alleging is true, that’s an act of war … they killed over 3,000 of our people,” Smith said.

“He’s also alleging the flip side of this, which is the American government knows about it and is covering it up,” said Napolitano.

Napolitano noted that President Obama signed an arms deal last year with the Sauds for $60 billion to provide weapons to them for the next ten years. “It’s a very dangerous stew here,” said Napolitano.
