New Book Questions How Foreign Donations Impacted Hillary Clinton’s State Dept.

A new book titled, “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,” by Peter Schweizer, will be released on May 5, and is expected to provide insight into the influence of foreign donors to the Clinton Foundation had on US foreign policy during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as Secretary of State.

After obtaining a copy, the New York Times hailed the book, which “asserts that foreign entities who made payments to the Clinton Foundation and to Mr. Clinton through high speaking fees received favors from Mrs. Clinton’s State Department in return” as the “most anticipated and feared book of a presidential cycle still in its infancy.

Peter Schweizer, a conservative author and the President of the Government Accountability Institute, has written books such as Architects of Ruin: How a Gang of Radical Activists and Liberal Politicians Destroyed Trillions of Dollars in Wealth in the Pursuit of Social Justice (2009), Throw Them All Out: How Politicians and Their Friends Get Rich off Insider Stock Tips, Land Deals, and Cronyism That Would Send the Rest of Us to Prison (2011), and Extortion: How Politicians Extract Your Money, Buy Votes, and Line Their Own Pockets (2013).

According to the New York Times, Clinton Cash includes examples of a free-trade agreement in Columbia that benefitted the head of an oil company who had personally donated millions to the foundation, development projects in Haiti following an earthquake in 2010, and more than $1 million in payments to Bill Clinton by a major Canadian shareholder in the Keystone XL oil pipeline around the same time the State Department was debating the project.

As previously reported, a recent report from International Business Times detailed the Clintons’ involvement with the free-trade agreement between Columbia and the US, which included the fact that while then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was condemning human rights violations in Colombia, the Clinton family was also “forging a financial relationship” with the extensive petroleum company Pacific Rubiales, which is “at the center of Colombia’s labor strife.

We will see a pattern of financial transactions involving the Clintons that occurred contemporaneous with favorable U.S. policy decisions benefiting those providing the funds,” Schweizer wrote.

The New York Times noted that Schweizer’s book “largely focuses on payments made to Mr. Clinton for speeches, which increased while his wife served as secretary of state,” as shown by the fact that out of the “13 Clinton speeches that fetched $500,000 or more,” only two occurred during the years that Hillary Clinton was not secretary of state.

During Hillary’s years of public service, the Clintons have conducted or facilitated hundreds of large transactions,” wrote Schweizer, who highlighted that fact that “some of these transactions have put millions in their own pockets.

Presidential candidate and Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky), who has highlighted the phrase “Liberty, Not Hillary” in his campaign, also has a page on his website asking for any “additional information about the Clinton Foundation accepting foreign contributions.”

Business Insider called Clinton Cash the “blockbuster exposé” Paul has been waiting for to derail Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Presidential campaign.

Brian Fallon, a spokesman for Clinton’s campaign, told the Times that Schweizer’s book is “twisting previously known facts into absurd conspiracy theories.”

While Hillary Clinton’s aides have worked to label critical books as “conservative propaganda,” the New York Times predicted that Clinton Cash will do more damage than other books such as Edward Klein’s Blood Feud, which looks at the relationship between the Clintons and the Obamas, and Daniel Halper’s Clinton Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine, due to the fact that “major news organizations including The Times, The Washington Post and Fox News have exclusive agreements with the author  to pursue the story lines found in the book.

It’s Official: Hillary’s Running For President

By Alex Pappas

As expected, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign officially launched Sunday afternoon.

The announcement was made by senior adviser John Podesta. “It’s official: Hillary’s running for president,” Podesta said in a email to supporters and donors.

“She is hitting the road to Iowa to start talking directly with voters,” Podesta added. “There will be a formal kickoff event next month, and we look forward to seeing you there.”

The email was shared on Twitter by Democratic activist Jesse Berney.

In a risk-averse move, the former secretary of state, 2008 Democratic candidate for president, senator and first lady posted her own announcement video on social media Sunday. By not announcing her candidacy at a public event or in interviews with the media, Clinton has the benefit of having more control over the narrative coming out of her announcement.

“I’m running for president,” Clinton says in the video.

>Channeling progressives like Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Clinton says: “Americans have fought their way back from tough economic times. But the deck is still stacked in favor of those at the top. Everyday Americans need a champion. And I want to be that champion, so you can do more than just get by. You can get ahead. And stay ahead.”

“So I’m hitting the road to earn your vote,” Clinton adds. “Because it’s your time. And I hope you’ll join me on this journey.”

Clinton is the first major Democratic candidate to enter the race.

Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Rand Paul of Kentucky have also announced they are running. Marco Rubio of Florida is expected to jump in the contest Monday.

Rand Paul Favors Boycott of Saudi Arabia

In New Hampshire on Saturday, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul took aim at Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation’s mega millions in donated foreign money.

Appearing at the BeanTowne cafe, Paul said, “Anybody here think it’s a good idea for Hillary Clinton to be accepting money from Saudi Arabia? Anybody here think that she ought to send it back to Saudi Arabia?”

“This is something we should be organizing a boycott of,” said Paul. “Do you remember how when South Africa was misbehaving, we organized a boycott of South Africa? We should be boycotting Saudi Arabia, not taking money from Saudi Arabia’s government.”

Paul said that Clinton should return the money from countries with anti women’s rights policies:

“In countries that stone people to death for adultery and imprison people for adultery, this is the kind of thing you would think someone for women’s rights would be standing up against, instead of accepting thinly veiled bribes,” said Paul to Politico.

“There has been much talk of a war on women. There is indeed a war on women — in Saudi Arabia. When Hillary Clinton claims she will support women’s rights, ask her why she accepted millions of dollars from.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Clinton Foundation received $7.3 million from Saudi Arabians from 1999 to 2014, based on contributions of more than $50,000.

Paul didn’t mention in this speech the House of Saud’s funding of terrorism, although he mentioned this previously (see video here).

As reported previously via BenSwann.com, according to Clinton, ISIS has received funding from the Saudis.

Eight years after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Clinton, wrote in a cable leaked by WikiLeaks that “Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support base for al-Qaeda, the Taliban, LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan) and other terrorist groups.”

Senator Bob Graham, the co-chairman of the official inquiry into 9/11, has said the Washington has turned a blind eye to the Saudis support.

“I believe that the failure to shine a full light on Saudi actions and particularly its involvement in 9/11 has contributed to the Saudi ability to continue to engage in actions that are damaging to the U.S. – and in particular their support for Isis,” he said.

Saudi and foreign influence on American elections should not only raise eyebrows but should be condemned by both Americans and the media.

George Soros Signs On With Hillary Clinton 2016 Super PAC

The official Twitter account of the Hillary Clinton super PAC “Ready For Hillary” recently tweeted that George Soros is on board with the PAC. “We are proud to welcome George Soros as one of the co-chairs of @ReadyForHillary‘s national finance council,” tweeted the account.

In 160 characters or less, the tweet seems to confirm the forces, which will push Clinton into a democratic presidential bid.
