CPAC Straw Poll Winner Rand Paul Battles The Bush Machine—Goldwater Style

WASHINGTON, February 28, 2015—As the winner of the past three Conservative Political Action Committee’s (CPAC) Straw Polls, Senator Rand Paul excels at generating meaningful political and economic discussions among college students and young professionals. The same generation that is known for speaking in bewildering acronyms continues to gather in force to ask and to answer difficult questions that are essential to the life and liberty of all Americans. Their answers will ultimately determine the future of the nation.

The Senator’s most recent economic stand will endear him to anyone who has ever interfaced with the Internal Revenue Service. He promised to introduce the largest tax cut in American history. In his speech to attendees of CPAC, he mentioned that he is poised to propose a tax plan “that would get the IRS out of our lives.” He indicated his intention to cut taxes “for everyone from the richest to the poorest.”

“It’s time for a new way predicated on opportunity and freedom!” said Paul to a wildly supportive crowd. The Senator attacked America’s indiscriminate foreign aid policies, especially the large sums of money sent without the permission of taxpayers to countries that consider The United States an enemy. “Not one penny more to these haters of America!” said Paul.

His speech had the tenor of a well-run, focused campaign and was eerily similar to comments made by Senator Barry Goldwater exactly 50 years ago on the campaign trail leading up to his landmark GOP presidential nomination. “You cannot stop a man who has vowed to bury you by handing him a shovel,” said Goldwater, “By feeding and clothing his friends, while denying your friends the means to help protect you!” Goldwater believed that removing foreign aid would ultimately prevent wars.

Several members of the Young Jewish Conservatives attending CPAC this year specifically mentioned the foreign aid issue as a driving force behind their support for Rand Paul for president. Paul’s straight talk appeals to countless concerned Americans who are fed up with politics as usual, feel betrayed by the Party Machine, and fear that the United States is on an irreversible course similar to that of the Titanic—or Greece.

Two weeks prior to CPAC, the Students for Liberty (SFL) held its national conference in Washington, D.C. More than 1,700 students from across the world attended. The group was largely inspired by the ideas presented to them by Senator Paul’s father, Congressman Ron Paul. Now it is the fastest-growing political group on college campuses globally, and is surpassing both the College Democrats and College Republicans groups on American campuses.

Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is another group inspired by the Paul family’s articulation of limited government principles. Many YAL members were active in the GOP for years before they understood the liberty message, realized how well it resonates, and committed to passionately fight to preserve it. The large presence of both SFL and YAL at CPAC is telling, and has seemingly eliminated the establishment hostilities doled out to them by fellow attendees when they were the minority at previous conferences. The young libertarians gladly swap testimonies of political enlightenment with a fervor nostalgic of a tent revival meeting. They are also getting elected to offices across the land, a clear sign that they are not going away anytime soon.

Freedom is popular, it seems, and the Bill of Rights is back en vogue with a new generation of American rebels. This energy threatens to change the go-along-to-get-along, aging Republican establishment, which is why the party profiteers are so quick to strike back at the resurgence of old school conservatism.

The same Rockefeller Republicans who sandbagged Goldwater after he won the GOP nomination from the floor are currently working financial and legal channels on behalf of Jeb Bush. The 2016 Republican nomination is seemingly fixed for the top fundraiser and his delegate-donors, a complete violation of the nominating process. Sources say Jeb Bush bussed hundreds of people to CPAC from their Washington offices just to fill seats during his speech and to presumably raise his standing in the straw poll. This effort did not succeed in preventing him from being handily booed every time his name was mentioned, including while he addressed the attendees who remained after a protest/walkout. His temporary seat-filling strategy was met with disdain by attendees who saved and spent their own money to attend the duration of the event and cast their ballots.

One of Paul’s leading critics is fellow Senator and former GOP nominee John McCain, a man who praises Goldwater with his lips while shunning everything he stood for by his actions.  Just two years ago, the 80-year-old McCain called Senators Paul and Cruz, as well as Congressman Justin Amash, “wacko birds.” He called their supporters, the Under 40 crowd that supports Paul’s limited government principles, “impressionable libertarian kids.”

Yet, the vibrant, liberty-leaning younger crowd that has wrestled its way into the GOP is the only fresh blood coursing through the Party’s very old veins. Perhaps the current Republican Party leadership is not the right body from which to expect kind words of “big tent” gratitude. The crowds who now stand with Rand don’t seem to care. Their vision is clear, and they know they will eventually outlive the generation that got the country into this mess in the first place. They seem to be ready to get to work.

Paul Would Be Most Competitive Against Hillary, Poll Announced

According to a new Quinnipiac Poll released this week, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) appears to be the most competitive against Hillary Clinton.

In three key swing states, Colorado, Iowa and Virginia, Clinton leads Paul, but is still considered competitive.

In Colorado, Clinton leads Paul 43 percent to 41 percent; in Iowa, Clinton leads Paul 45 percent to 37 percent; and in Virginia Clinton leads Paul 44 percent to 42 percent.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush didn’t do as well as Paul. He trails Clinton 44 percent to 36 percent in Colorado, 45 percent to 35 percent in Iowa and is tied with Clinton in Virginia, 42 percent to 42 percent.

The Quinnipiac Poll was conducted Feb. 5 to Feb. 15. In Colorado, 1,049 voters were surveyed, 1,089 voters were surveyed in Iowa and 1,074 voters were surveyed in Virginia. In each survey, the margin of error was plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Will Senator Rand Paul be the next GOP nominee in 2016? Give us your thoughts in the comments below.

Republican-Led Committee Finds No Interference from Obama Administration in Benghazi Attacks

On Friday, the United States House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee released a report, regarding its investigation of the terrorist attacks that occurred on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, on September 11, 2012.

The report stated that it was meant to “serve as the definitive House statement on the Intelligence Community’s activities before, during and after the tragic events” that led to the death of four Americans: U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith, and CIA Contractors: Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.

According to the report, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence “conducted a comprehensive and exhaustive investigation into the tragic attacks against two U.S. facilities on Benghazi, Libya, on September 11-12, 2012.”

The report, which came as a result of a nearly two-year investigation, found that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) “ensured sufficient security for CIA facilities in Benghazi,” and that there was “no intelligence failure prior to the attacks.

It also claimed that after the attacks, the “early intelligence assessments and the Administration’s initial public narrative on the causes and motivations for the attacks were not fully accurate,” and that the attackers seemed to come from a range of backgrounds:

The Committee finds that a mixed group of individuals, including those affiliated with Al-Qa’ida, participated in the attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, although the Committee finds that the intelligence was and remains conflicting about the identities, affiliations, and motivations of the attackers.”

The report concluded that the Committee found no evidence that the CIA “conducted unauthorized activities in Benghazi,” that the Intelligence Community “shipped arms to Syria,” or that any of the officers were intimidated to destroy information or change their accounts of the events:

The Committee found no evidence that any officer was intimidated, wrongly forced to sign a nondisclosure agreement or otherwise kept from speaking to Congress, or polygraphed because of their presence in Benghazi.”

While this report states that there was no interference, Benswann.com reported claims from former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell, in September 2014, which stated, “Allies of Hillary Clinton removed potentially damaging documents before handing over files to the Accountability Review Board.

VIDEO: Clinton delivers her version of Obama’s, “You didn’t create that.”

BOSTON, October 27, 2014- Last Friday, at a campaign event for Massachusetts’ Democratic gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley in Boston, Hillary Clinton slipped up and revealed what many have always known to be her true views towards capitalism and free markets.

During her stump speech Clinton stated, “Don’t let anybody tell you that it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know that old theory, trickledown economics. That has been tried, that has failed. It has failed rather spectacularly. One of the things my husband says when people say, ‘What did you bring to Washington?’ He says, ‘I brought arithmetic.’ ”

Trickle down economics, also known as supply-side economics, is the theory at the heart of capitalism and free markets. The economic principle encompasses the theory that cutting taxes and lessening the amount of business regulations will in turn free up capital and enable businesses to grow, businesses which will in turn hire more employees and stimulate the economy.

Clinton joins the ranks of several other democrats who have slipped up in speeches and revealed their true feelings towards capitalism. In a 2012 campaign speech, President Barack Obama famously stated, “You didn’t build that” in relation to small business owners in America.

This is also not the first gaffe Clinton has made herself. In June of this year while promoting her latest book Clinton famously made the claim that she and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, were “dead broke” when they left the White House. The claim was rated as “mostly false” by PolitiFact.com.

The former Secretary of State is expected to be a contender in the 2016 Presidential race though she has yet to announce her candidacy. Clinton is largely expected to receive the Democratic nomination for the presidency in 2016 if she announces her campaign.

You can watch the full clip of Clinton’s remarks here.

Hillary Clinton Condemns Soaring Student Debt During $225K University Speech

Las Vegas, NV- Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton gave the keynote speech for the University of Nevada Las Vegas at the college’s annual UNLV Foundation Dinner Monday night. Both the speech and following moderated discussion were closed to most media without prior approval, but conservative political organization America Rising PAC recorded a short clip of Clinton criticizing mounting student debt.

Clinton’s appearance has been under scrutiny from UNLV students who are frustrated by the university’s rising tuition rates and Clinton’s $225,000 fee for speaking at the dinner.

The speaking fee was not collected by Clinton herself, but paid to the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. The fee was paid for by a private donor; UNLV students speculated that sum of money could be better spent if directly given to the university.

According to NBC Las Vegas, Clinton’s speaking fee rivaled the amount that was donated at the UNLV Foundation Dinner. About $235,000 was reportedly collected from donors at the dinner.

The UNLV’s Board of Regents voted in June of this year to raise undergraduate tuition costs by 17% over the next four years. The vote was met with objection from students who pointed out that tuition costs have nearly tripled over the last ten years and that the costs are rising faster than the rate of inflation. UNLV students later requested that Clinton donate the money back to the UNLV Foundation, which provides scholarships to students.

Former State Department official: Clinton camp destroyed Benghazi documents

WASHINGTON D.C., September 15, 2014 – Today, former Deputy Assistant Secretary Raymond Maxwell dropped a Benghazi bombshell in a statement.

“What they were looking for is anything that made them look bad. That’s the way it was described to us,” said Chaffetz.

In his account, Maxwell claims that allies of Hillary Clinton removed potentially damaging documents before handing over files to the Accountability Review Board investigating the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi.

Maxwell, the former head of the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, told lawmakers an after hours session to separate documents took place over a weekend in a operations-type center at the State Department in Washington D.C.

Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) confirmed Maxwell’s story. Chaffetz stated that Maxwell told him and other lawmakers his sum of events last year when he was privately interviewed in the aftermath of the attacks. At that time, according to Chaffetz, Maxwell claimed that Clinton’s chief of staff and deputy chief of staff oversaw the alleged weekend.

Maxwell claims that he was not invited to the after hours session, but walked in on the Sunday afternoon after hearing about it. He reportedly saw stacks of documents and a office director who worked for him. According to Maxwell, the director told him they had been instructed to go through files and pull out items that could put anybody in the NEA in a bad light.

These new allegations come two days before the House Select Committee on Benghazi is scheduled to open its first hearing. This is the first time Maxwell has gone public with his account. Chaffetz described Maxwell’s account as “consistent” throughout the whole time.

VIDEO: Sen. Warren refuses to criticize Hillary Clinton

NEW YORK CITY, September 9, 2014 – In an interview with Yahoo Global News’ Anchor Katie Couric, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D- Mass.) lambasted former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s new position at Wall Street investment banking firm Moelis & Co., yet refused to criticize fellow Democrat, Hillary Clinton’s, own ties to big business as harshly.

The Senator claimed that former Washington politicians who head to these kinds of firms once leaving office are not being hired because they bring great expertise and insight, but because they’re “selling access back in to their former colleagues who are still writing policy”. “This ultimately infects whatever it is that they’re doing, and I just think this is wrong,” Warren went on to tell Couric.

However, when asked specifically if she thought Hillary Clinton was too cozy with Wall Street the Senator retreated to generalities and refused to chastise a member of her own party with the same severeness she leveled at Cantor.

Clinton’s ties to big business are well known. The financial sector was Clinton’s second largest donor in her 2008 campaign. Since leaving office the former Senator has been paid millions of dollars in speaking fees from firms such as J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs. You can watch Warren’s full interview here:

Rand Paul Calls Hillary Clinton A “War Hawk” During Discussion of Foreign Policy And Police Power

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) was interviewed by NBC’s  “Meet the Press” last week while the program covered his humanitarian mission in Guatemala performing eye surgeries on citizens in need. Paul spoke about other issues as well, including police activity in Ferguson, MO and the 2016 presidential election. Paul expressed concern that former Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton may frustrate the American public by pushing the United States into more wars if elected.

Paul said that he felt many Americans are growing tired of military interventions as he illustrated a scenario of a Paul-vs-Clinton presidential election:

“I think the American public is coming more and more to where I am, and that those people like Hillary Clinton who- she fought her own war, ‘Hillary’s War’, you know people are gonna find that. And I think that’s what scares the Democrats the most- is that in a general election, were I to run, there’s going to be a lot of independents and even some Democrats who say ‘You know what, we are tired of war. We’re worried that Hillary Clinton will get us involved in another Middle Eastern war, because she’s so gung-ho.'”

The segment cut to Paul continuing “If you want to see a transformational election in our country, let the Democrats put forward a war hawk like Hillary Clinton, and you’ll see a transformation like you’ve never seen.”

Paul has been a voice of criticism regarding military intervention, particularly in Syria, while Clinton has been a proponent of taking more military action. The two potential candidates clearly have differing views of the United States concerning their role in foreign policy.

Before criticizing Clinton, Paul, while stating that he would provide no judgement of the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, once again condemned the militarization of police in the United States:

“When I see things like that and I see, like, a war zone, and I see bazookas and tanks and all of this stuff in American city- it offends me because many of these people, some are rioting, and they need to be arrested,” he said. “If you’re committing a crime, arrest people. But if you’re standing up and you want to voice dissent, you know it is really what America is about is being able to dissent.”

Paul pointed out that “Homeland Security gave $8 million dollars to Fargo to fight terrorism in Fargo, North Dakota. And I say if the terrorists get to Fargo we might as well give up. I say that as a joke, but I mean it’s like what are you doing spending 8 million dollars in Fargo? What are we doing sending a tank- there’s an armored personnel carrier in Keene, New Hampshire.”

Blowback in Iraq: How U.S. Proxy Wars Led to the Rise of ISIS

The U.S. and its regional allies armed and trained “moderate” Sunni rebels to oust President Bashar al-Assad of Syria in order to weaken the Iranian/Russian influence in the Middle East. Then those “moderate” Sunni rebels became more radical and joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) which has emerged as the largest, wealthiest and most-radical terrorist organization in the region.

The strategy of arming radical Sunni Muslims has been an abysmal failure, yet Hillary Clinton and neoconservatives like Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham continue to push their Brzezinski-inspired foreign policy. In a swipe at the Obama administration, Clinton said, “Failure to help Syrian rebels led to the rise of ISIS.”

Last Sunday, both McCain and Graham appeared on the Sunday talk shows to warn about the “direct threat” of ISIS.

Graham told Fox News, “The Islamic State is ‘an existential threat’’ to our homeland.” Graham asked, “Do we really want to let America be attacked?”

What the mainstream media fails to ask war hawks like Graham is what made ISIS a threat in the first place?

What the mainstream media is not telling you is that both Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham played roles in strengthening ISIS and other Islamic insurgents in Syria.

ISIS success is due to the support they received from the CIA and key U.S. allies in the Persian Gulf — Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Both countries remain to be a critical financial support for al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations. Recently, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki accused Saudi Arabia and Qatar of openly funding the Sunni Muslim insurgents.

McCain still praises the Saudis, despite the known fact of its state-sponsored terror network and funding sources.

At the Munich Security Conference, McCain said, “Thank God for the Saudis and Prince Bandar and for our Qatari friends.”

According to Steve Clemons writing for The Atlantic, “ISIS, in fact, may have been a major part of Bandar’s covert-ops strategy in Syria.” Clemons notes that according to one senior Qatari official, “ISIS has been a Saudi project.”

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Saudi ambassador, Adel al-Jubeir, recruited both McCain and Graham to “put  pressure on the administration to get more involved in Syria.”

So why are U.S. Senators working with the same actors who are behind ISIS instead of working to cut off the Islamic funding mechanisms?

Not only has the U.S. created an unholy alliance with states who sponsor terrorism, it has strengthened ISIS by training and arming radical Sunni insurgents who join ISIS, that share similar goals of creating an Islamic caliphate.

The CIA trains and arms Islamic rebels making matters worse.

There is no real distinction between moderate rebels and ISIS. In fact, there are an endless parade of reports that the U.S.-supported “moderate rebels” in the Free Syrian Army (FSA)  have joined ISIS. See here, here and here.

The FSA, al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra Front and other Syrian rebels are joining forces with a unifying goal of creating an Islamic state.

Despite the reality on the ground in Syria and Iraq, politicians continue to advance their failed policies and the mainstream media never challenges them. They refuse to accept that arming Sunni rebels prolongs the conflict and makes matters worse.

The foreign policy strategy of arming radical Islamist to fight in American proxy wars postulated by Clinton, McCain and Graham is  not based on any winning strategy but is based on political distraction by averting attention away from their failures.

The blame game is alive in Washington, D.C.. But their ideas are dangerous for the American people who face a challenging world.

Foreign Policy’s Marc Lynch, said that the scheme of arming rebels is “just wrong” and it’s a strategy that won’t work. He noted that an “external support for insurgents typically makes conflicts longer and bloodier.”

“It’s difficult to produce a single example in modern history of a strategy of arming rebels actually succeeding,” said Lynch.

Steve Clemons describes the current blowback in Iraq perfectly:

“ Like elements of the mujahideen, which benefited from U.S. financial and military support during the Soviet war in Afghanistan and then later turned on the West in the form of al-Qaeda, ISIS achieved scale and consequence through Saudi support, only to now pose a grave threat to the kingdom and the region.”

“It’s this concern about blowback that has motivated Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey and Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to encourage restraint in arming Syrian rebels. President Obama has so far heeded these warnings.”

According to recent polls, Americans want to be less active in global affairs. What will bombing ISIS in Syria and Iraq really accomplish when there is no real prospect of victory?

In recent opinion piece, Pat Buchanan asks, “If ISIS’ gains are truly an “existential threat” to the republic and our cities are about to “go up in flames,” why did these Republican hawks not demand that President Obama call back Congress from its five-week vacation to vote to authorize a new war on ISIS in Syria and Iraq?”

Congressman Thomas Massie agrees with Buchanan.

“Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution gives Congress—not the President—the power to declare war … these air strikes require congressional authorization, and the American people deserve open debate by their elected officials,” said Massie.

Massie told the media that “America’s national security interests in Iraq are unclear, because Iraq poses no imminent threat.”

“And, because the President has not articulated a long term strategy, I would vote against authorizing the use of military force in Iraq,” Massie said.

LOTFI: Fox News one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest donors for better part of two decades

To many, it seems contrary to intuition that Fox News could be one of the Clinton family’s largest donors for the better part of two decades. Check your intuition at the door- it’s true. According to Federal Election Commission and Center for Responsive Politics data, 21st Century Fox News Corp. has donated more than $3 million to Clinton family accounts. Overall, this lands Fox as the Clinton family’s 9th largest donor over the course of the family’s political involvement.

P- Clinton Fox News Donations

Should it really infuriate the conservative viewership of Fox News that the company also donates to Democrats? After all, are political parties not constantly blaming media outlets for being biased? What would it say about the state of media in America if companies and their journalists only donated to one specific party? More troubling, what does it say about Americans that some are upset over the fact that Fox News and its employees are donating to Democrats in addition to Republicans? Do we really want our media to be non-bias, or do we simply want it to follow our own bias?

Bill Clinton Tries To Dismiss Rand Paul’s “Disqualified for President” Comment About Hillary

On NBC’s Meet the Press this morning, the host David Gregory held a town hall where he asked former United States President Bill Clinton questions that covered a number of political topics. When David Gregory asked Bill Clinton about Rand Paul’s recent comment regarding his reasoning for why Hillary Clinton is disqualified to be President, Bill Clinton defended his wife by telling the audience that Rand Paul’s comment shouldn’t be taken seriously because Republicans were never outraged when American personnel were killed during George W. Bush’s time as President.

Is Bill Clinton correct or should Rand Paul’s comment be taken seriously? Please tell us your thoughts in the comments section below.

David Gregory: One of the issues about America’s role in the world is if we pursue a lighter footprint going into places intervening then that which we leave behind can become chaotic and so it becomes a question of what responsibility does the United States have to be part of that future of a country. This goes to Iraq, I’ve always believed that is the larger question about Benghazi, but you understand the political question about Bengahazi in many ways some have tried to make it about Secretary Clinton and her tenure. Rand Paul on the program, he may run for President in 2016, called it disqualifying for Secretary Clinton. Do you have a response for that?

Clinton: Well, let’s go back to the first question because it’s serious. That’s not a serious comment and that isn’t a sort of serious question. Rand Paul, when ten different instances occurred when President Bush was in office where American diplomatic personnel were killed around the world, how many outraged Republican members of Congress were there? Zero.

Marco Rubio: “I’m Ready To Be President”

Manchester, NH- In an interview Sunday with Jonathan Karl for ABC’s “This Week”, Senator Marco Rubio (R- FL) said that that he’s ready to be President, although there are “multiple other people” who are also ready to do the same.

He has not made an official bid, but he’s been using most of the strategies that a potential candidate would: fundraising, appearing in New Hampshire, hiring national staff, and campaigning for fellow Republicans.

Rubio told Karl that if he does run, he will not seek re-election for Senate. “If I decide to run for President, I will not have some sort of exit strategy to run for the Senate,” Rubio said.  “I believe that if you want to be President of The United States, you run for President. You don’t run for President with some eject button in the cockpit that allows you to go on an exit ramp if it doesn’t work out.”

“Do you think you’re ready to be President?” Karl asked. Rubio replied, “I do, but I think that’s true for multiple other people that would want to run.” Rubio explained that he’s been in office long enough to gain the necessary experience to be President. “I mean, I’ll be 43 this month, but the other thing that perhaps people don’t realize, I’ve served now in public office for the better part of 14 years. Most importantly, I think a president has to have a clear vision of where the country needs to go and clear ideas about how to get it there, and I think we’re very blessed in our party to have a number of people that fit that criteria.”

“The question is, whose vision is the one that our party wants to follow,” Rubio told Karl.

In an April 2014 New Hampshire poll, Rubio was polling at 2%, only ahead of Rick Perry in last place at 1% and far behind Rand Paul with 15% and Paul Ryan with 13%. Just over a year ago, Rubio was tied with Rand Paul at 15%.

Regarding the recent poll, Rubio laughed, saying that “it’s probably the Time cover jinx, just like Sports Illustrated. Polls are everywhere all the time. I don’t really pay a lot of attention to them.”

Rubio went on to discuss immigration reform and the investigation of the Benghazi scandal. He quickly criticized the current administration, saying that “no one’s been held accountable”. When Karl asked how much of the Benghazi scandal will be problematic for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s potential run for President, Rubio said, “I’m sure she’s going to go out bragging about her time in the State Department. She’s also going to have to be held accountable for its failings.”

The interview concluded with discussion of recent scientific findings about climate change, with Rubio dismissing much of it. “I do not believe that human activity is causing these dramatic changes to our climate the way these scientists are portraying it.  That’s what I do not.  And I do not believe that the laws that they propose we pass will do anything about it, except it will destroy our economy.”

Hillary Clinton Allegedly Kept A “Hit List” During 2008 Campaign

ap_hillary_clinton_mi_130805_16x9_608

According to a new book, the Clintons built a formal enemies list on an Excel spreadsheet at the end of Hillary Clinton’s failed 2008 presidential bid. The enemies on the list were apparently fellow Democrats whom Hillary believed betrayed her during the primaries.

The alleged list is detailed in the book “HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton” — Politico and The Hill published excerpts from the book. The book is set to be released next month.

The book claims that the Clintons’ list, which insiders referred to as the “hit list,” ranked enemies on a scale from 1-7, 7 being the worst traitor. Some Democrats who made the list were John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and John Edwards.

According tot he book, “traitors” were individuals who chose to endorse Barack Obama rather than Hillary in 2008.

An excerpt from the book, written by reporters Jonathan Allen of Politico and Amie Parnes of The Hill, said, “Almost six years later most Clinton aides can still rattle off the names of traitors and the favors that had been done for them, then provide details of just how each of the guilty had gone on to betray the Clintons—as if it all had happened just a few hours before. The data project ensured that the acts of the sinners and saints would never be forgotten.”

It continued, “For Hillary, whose loss was of course not the end of her political career, the spreadsheet was a necessity of modern political warfare, an improvement on what old-school politicians called a ‘favor file.’ It meant that when asks rolled in, she and Bill would have at their fingertips all the information needed to make a quick decision — including extenuating, mitigating and amplifying factors — so that friends could be rewarded and enemies punished.”

The list did not just include political enemies — it also included the names of individuals who had done good deeds for the Clintons, so that favors could be returned.

Hillary currently claims that she has not yet decided if she will run for president in 2016. Although her alleged “hit list” has been making the media rounds, it will likely not matter much if she does decide to run in 2016. It does, however, signify that Hillary will be under intense scrutiny this year as she decides whether or not to run for president.

Are You Ready For Hillary? All Signs Point To 2016 Prez Run

hillary282way_14632937

Are you ready for Hillary?

Whether you are or not might not matter, because all signs point to the former First Lady and Secretary of State gearing up for a 2016 run. Earlier today New York Magazine reported, “While we’re still many months away from an announcement on her plans for 2016, it’s increasingly obvious that Clinton’s camp is working to make sure she’ll have a sophisticated presidential campaign at the ready.”

Super-PAC “Ready for Hillary” has a growing email list of supporters that it emails regularly. But an email sent from the group on Sunday was different.

This particular email was sent by former CNN talking head General Wesley Clark to Hillary Clinton supporters. The return address was “info@hillaryclinton.com.”

The Ready for Hillary campaign rented out the Hillary Clinton 2008 mailing list of supporters to send Genearl Clark’s message. This is a sign that Clinton supports the groundwork being laid out by Ready for Hillary.

Here are the contents of yesterday’s email:

U.S. report: Afghanistan will likely descend into chaos

Will America’s longest war result in chaos? A U.S. diplomatic cable that was released by WikiLeaks paints a dismal picture of the reality in Afghanistan.

According to the Washington Post, “a new American intelligence assessment on the Afghan war predicts that the gains the United States and its allies have made during the past three years are likely to have been significantly eroded by 2017, even if Washington leaves behind a few thousand troops and continues bankrolling the impoverished nation.”

The prediction of insurgents taking back control of Afghanistan and the failures of U.S. foreign policy is not surprising though.

Earlier this month, the Obama administration, couldn’t tell congress how much the U.S. actually spends annually in Afghanistan.

Benswann.com’s Joshua Cook reported that Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) asked the Obama administration’s top Afghanistan specialists: (1) How much is the U.S. spending in Afghanistan? (2) How many American troops have been killed in Afghanistan this year?

When none of them could give him an answer, Rohrabacher responded, “We’re supposed to believe that you fellas have a plan that’s going to end up in a positive way in Afghanistan? Holy cow!”

According to CNN, support for the war in Afghanistan has dipped below 20%, according to a new national poll, making the country’s longest military conflict arguably its most unpopular one as well.

But one of the most disturbing aspects of U.S. foreign policy is the refusal to expose the fact that the Saudi government, America’s so-called ally, is funding global terrorism.

The Independent’s Patrick Cockburn reported that WikiLeaks released a telegraph sent by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2009 which firmly states “donors in Saudi Arabia constitute the most significant source of funding to Sunni terrorist groups worldwide.” Mrs. Clinton reiterates in the same message “Saudi Arabia remains a critical financial support for al-Qa’ida, the Taliban, LeT [Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan] and other terrorist groups.”

The 9/11 Families United for Justice Against Terrorism (JASTA) coordinator, David White, told Benswann.com’s Joshua Cook, “We’re making a decision about how to leave the longest war in our history without knowing the exact details of who was behind what got us there, and who supported it. It’s still being held secret.”

“If there were ever a time to put our cards on the table as we make our decisions, it’s now. We almost went into Syria … we got to the door in making that decision without ever discussing what it means for us to be doing things as a proxy ally for Saudi Arabia,” said White.

In 160 characters or less, the tweet seems to confirm the forces, which will push Clinton into a democratic presidential bid.
