Pentagon Employee Tries To Download Porn 12,000 Times in 3 months

Washington D.C.- A Pentagon employee working in accounting tired to access pornographic websites 12,000 times over a period of three months.

The investigation detailed records obtained through a freedom of information act or FOIA request which was submitted by Jim McElhatton at the Washington Times. It shows the unnamed employee had already tried hundreds of times to access porn between October of 2013- May of 2014. But then over the summer, he tried to access pornographic websites 3,000 times in June, 3,000 times in July and a whopping 6,000 times in August. The employee failed to access the sites because of Pentagon firewalls.

To give you an idea of how often this employee was attempting to access these sites, in order to rack up 6,000 attempts, that employee would have tried to access these sites on average every two minutes in the month of August, working a five day work week, eight hours in a day.

Aside from the waste of time and resources, management at the Pentagon alert that the porn websites are known to contain malware and have figured in cyber-attacks on networks of government agencies.

Porn Appears On Govt. Website, Bureaucrats Take Over One Week To Remove It

A porn video called “Sexy Babe” was put on the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) website. The video remained on the site for an entire week before it was finally noticed and subsequently removed.

The film was uploaded to the site on February 18. It was eventually discovered on February 28 in an area of the site where companies share information about oil and gas.

The Columbus Dispatch reported, “Within the department’s division of oil and gas site, there is a Risk Based Data Management System that contains ‘comprehensive well data for over 100,000 wells permitted since 1980.’ There you can find a file transfer protocol or FTP site used mainly to allow companies to transfer large files such as maps to ODNR.”

Apparently, at the time the porn video was uploaded, no credentials were required to get onto the site and transfer files. So the video could have been uploaded by anyone. Officials say that from here-on-out, credentials will be required to make any uploads.

Eileen Corson, an ODNR spokeswoman said, “Someone was using it as cloud storage. Unfortunately, that happens.”

In response to the incident, Ohio state Rep. John Patrick Carney (D-Columbus) is urging an investigation into the video’s upload. He said that government sites should “not be abused for personal use, especially for storing unauthorized or pirated files that expose them to malware and viruses.”

It is easy for one to argue that this is yet another example of government incompetence, specifically because it took over a week to even realize the video was on the department’s website. Had such a video been posted on a private company’s website, it likely would have been identified and removed promptly. The fear of a tarnished reputation is a powerful, motivating force in the private sector.

The NSA Is Watching People Watch Porn

By Michael Lotfi,

Good news: There’s no need to take nude selfies for your significant other anymore. Bad news: The NSA has got you covered! If you thought you were safe watching your computer screen in private– think again.

Yes, it’s really getting that creepy. Edward Snowden recently released another report on the NSA’s insatiable appetite for spying. According to documents exclusively obtained by the Huffington Post, the National Security Agency is gathering data on perspective radicalizers‘ pornography habits. The controversial agency is using the data to try and destroy such individuals’ credibility.

According to the report, “The document, provided by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, identifies six targets, all Muslims, as “exemplars” of how “personal vulnerabilities” can be learned through electronic surveillance, and then exploited to undermine a target’s credibility, reputation and authority.”

Yes, that means exactly what it sounds like. The federal government will leak, or publicly release information on your pornography habits if you cross them.

According to Jameel Jaffer, deputy legal director of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), “Wherever you are, the NSA’s databases store information about your political views, your medical history, your intimate relationships and your activities online,” he added. “The NSA says this personal information won’t be abused, but these documents show that the NSA probably defines ‘abuse’ very narrowly.”

Perhaps most of us are okay with the NSA monitoring every move of a potential terrorist. However, the issue strikes a nerve much closer to home when we recall that the NSA has been spying on American ally, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, average American citizens, and has even broken an anti-spying pact with Great Britain to spy on British citizens.

Truth be told, the NSA knows no bounds and does not operate under the rule of law. We already know that the NSA is collecting essentially every email we send to one another. Even worse, the federal government has labeled right-wing political activists and war veterans as possible terrorists.

Brazenly, when confronted about the “right-wing terrorism” report, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano made no apologies and stood by the report.

I guess the only thing left to say is– Enjoy the show mates.
