Exclusive Interview: Former Senator Bob Graham Discusses FBI Coverup, 9/11 Documents

Former Florida Senator Bob Graham continues to fight and raise awareness about censored 9/11 pages, and he spoke with BenSwann.com’s Joshua Cook in an exclusive interview.

“This has been a major source of frustration and anger for me. Back in 2002, I co-chaired the congressional inquiry into 9/11. We produced, after more than a year of research, hearings, interviews, reading thousands of documents, a report of over 800 pages,” explained Graham. Prior to the report’s release, one chapter of 28 pages was plucked out and has remained censored since the summer of 2003.

“That was the chapter that went to the question of who financed 9/11. I have been trying since that time to get those 28 pages released because I think that would be an important piece of information on to me the most essential, unanswered question of 9/11, which is did the 19 hijackers act alone or was there a support network, which facilitated their financing, their lives while in the United States, their training and practicing the plot,” he said.

Graham said that it’s implausible to think that these 19 men who couldn’t speak a lick of English or had never been to the United States could have carried out such a complicated assignment without external support.

The official position of the United States government is that these men worked alone.

But details of an FBI investigation of a Saudi Arabian family living at the time in Sarasota, Fla. says otherwise.

The family allegedly lived in the United States for six years. “During the later part of those six years, there was evidence that there was a significant level of association between the Saudi family and two of the 19 hijackers who were doing their flight training at a flying school near Sarasota,” said Graham.

“Ten days before 9/11, the Saudi family in what was described as ‘urgent conditions’ left their home in Sarasota with a new car in the front yard, with food in the refrigerator, with clothes in the clothes washer, and went back to Saudi Arabia the inference being that somebody tipped them off that something was about to happen,” he explained.

At the time of its investigation, the FBI wrote of many connections between this family and the hijackers. Now, curiously, the FBI has changed their tune.

“Now the FBI is saying that this agent was incompetent and didn’t write very well and didn’t mean what his plain words in English said,” he said. “What happens 13, 14 years later for the FBI to decide that they sent an incompetent agent to investigate one of the most suspicious aspects of pre-9/11 America?”

Under the Freedom of Information Act, the Florida Bulldog continues to request and investigate these documents. Graham said they hope to learn more about this family through FOIA requests.

All of this, Graham said, is to allow Americans to come to their own conclusions about 9/11. According to the U.S. government, the case is closed — the terrorists worked alone.

“My answer is if you think this chapter is closed, then let’s release all of the information, so that the American people can themselves,” he said.

“Let smart, patriotic Americans decide whether the hijackers acted alone or whether they had support, and if they had support, where did it come from and how the American government should deal with what would be a coconspirator for 9/11.”

The truth needs to come out, he said, and though he’s retired, he still has friends carrying on the fight.

Representatives Walter Jones (R-NC) and Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) introduced H. Res. 428 which asks President Obama to declassify the entire report, “Joint Inquiry Into Intelligence Community Activities Before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001.”

Rep. Massie on shocking 9/11 documents: “It challenges you to re-think everything”

In March Benswann.com reported that Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY), Walter Jones (R-NC), and Stephen F. Lynch (D-MA), , along with families who lost loved ones on Sept. 11, 2001, urged the president to declassify 28 pages from the 9/11 congressional investigation report, providing more information to the general public.

On Friday Rep. Massie commented on his Facebook page:

“Before we involve ourselves in #Iraq, Congressmen and their constituents need to know more about the events leading up to 9/11. Understanding what enabled this tragedy to occur is fundamental to drafting a strategy for the Middle East.

That’s why I joined families of 9/11 victims and Congressman Walter Jones and Congressman Stephen Lynch at a press conference to promote the release of 28 classified pages from an official 9/11 report. Based on my reading of the documents, I am confident that making these 28 pages public would not damage our national security.”

During a press conference in March Rep. Massie said, “As I read it, and we all had our own experience, I had to stop every couple of pages and just sort of try to absorb and try to rearrange my understanding of history. “It challenges you to re-think everything. I think the whole country needs to go through that.”

Newly released FBI files on 9/11 Florida investigation reveal an “antagonist” from Jerusalem – Who is the government trying to protect?

Thanks to the tireless effort of watchdog organization the Broward Bulldog and its Freedom of Information Act suit against the government, more information is being released about the Sarasota Saudis who moved suddenly out of their home, leaving behind clothing, jewelry and cars, about two weeks before the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Benswann.com has followed this story for months now and on Monday, the FBI released 11 heavily censored pages, which also include information on an “antagonist” to the United States.

From an FBI report dated April 2002:

It says the Tampa FBI office “has determined that (blank) is an antagonist of the United States of America. (Blank) resides in Jerusalem. (Blank) allegedly has held regular and recurring meetings at his residence to denounce and criticize the United States of America and its policies. (Blank) is allegedly an international businessman with great wealth.”

In November 2001, (blank) visited the United States for the first time. He traveled to Sarasota, Florida, opened a bank account and made initial queries into the purchase of property in south central Florida. (Blank) intends to establish a Muslim compound in Central Florida. (Blank) revealed that (blank) is fearful of (blank) and fears that (blank) intends to begin offensive operations against the United States if he is able to purchase property and establish a Muslim compound in Central Florida.”

Unfortunately, those blanks won’t be uncensored until 2039, which makes you wonder who the government is trying to protect?

The Broward Bulldog sued in 2012 after being denied access to the FBI’s file on a once-secret investigation focusing on the Sarasota Saudis — Abdulaziz al-Hijji, his wife, Anoud, and her father  Esam Ghazzawi, an advisor to a Saudi prince.

The pages reveal  that the al-Hijjis had departed the U.S. in haste shortly before 9/11 and that “further investigation” had “revealed many connections” between them and persons associated with “attacks on 9/11/2001.” Even though, publicly the FBI has denied any connection.

Another interesting part of the documents include this story, which took place around Halloween, 2001:

Deputies were called after a man with a Tunisian passport was observed disposing of items in a dumpster behind a storage facility he had rented in Bradenton.

The man’s name is blanked out, but the report says authorities who searched the dumpster found “a self-printed manual on terrorism and Jihad, a map of the inside of an unnamed airport, a rudimentary last will and testament, a weight to fuel ratio calculation for a Cessna 172 aircraft, flight training information from the Flight Training Center in Venice [Fla.] and printed maps of Publix shopping centers in Tampa Bay.”

The Flight Training Center is where 9/11 hijack pilot Ziad Jarrah, who was at the controls of United Airlines Flight 93 when it crashed in Shanksville, Pa, took flying lessons.

Read the documents here. The documents were located via court-ordered text searches using the names of the al-Hijjis and Ghazzawi. U.S. District Judge William J. Zloch is currently reviewing more than 80,000 pages of 9/11 records.

Miami First Amendment attorney Thomas Julin represents BrowardBulldog.org and said:

“This release suggests that the FBI has covered up information that is vitally important to public safety. It’s startling that after initially denying they had any documents they continue to find new documents as the weeks and months roll by. Each new batch suggests there are many, many more documents.”

So who is this U.S. antagonist and international businessman? Why is the FBI trying to protect him? Why are there no elected officials demanding answers regarding this case as it could affect future foreign relations?
