Video: IRS Commissioner Says Lerner Hard Drive Was Trashed, Audience Gasps

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testified in a hearing before the House Ways and Means Committee Friday that not only were Lois Lerner’s emails lost in a hard drive crash of her computer three years ago but that the physical hard drive was destroyed.

Perhaps even more stunning than Koskinen’s claim about the hard drive being destroyed is the idea that the IRS does not store emails longer than six months. As we have reported, six other IRS employees involved in the reported targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups have also claimed their emails were lost due to computer problems.
