WASHINGTON, D.C. — Oct. 7, 2024 — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) issued a press release Monday outlining a $210 million aid and assistance package it claims to have sent the victims of Hurricane Helene.

According the the release (published on the agency’s government website), “Federal support for survivors of Hurricane Helene has now surpassed $210 million, reflecting the Biden-Harris Administration’s commitment to helping impacted communities recover and rebuild. FEMA remains focused on coordinating comprehensive recovery efforts across the Southeast, mobilizing resources and personnel to provide immediate and long-term support to those affected.”

FEMA’s release went on to summarize the $210 million package, stating, “The agency is actively working alongside state, local and tribal partners to assess damage and support those affected by Helene.
