As Hurricane Milton rolls across the Gulf of Mexico, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis refused to accept a phone call from Vice President and current Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris, citing her gesture as “political” and “delusional”.
“She’s delusional if she thinks she has some kind of role in this,” DeSantis told the panel of “Outnumbered” on Fox News Monday. “I’ve talked with the President of the United States and FEMA. She’s trying to make the hurricane political because of her failing campaign.”
DeSantis went on to say that he is “leveraging all resources available, including from the federal government” in preparation for Milton’s expected landfall on Wednesday. “And so for Kamala Harris to try to say that my sole focus on the people of Florida is somehow selfish is delusional… She has no role in this. In fact, she’s been vice president for three and a half years. I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration. She has never contributed anything to any of these efforts, and so what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this.”
